Following the launch of Beldam Burgmann, the UK's only nationwide, genuine packing and static seals specialist, the company has unveiled its new-look senior management team.
The Pexion owned concern will be chaired by current Pexion group managing director, Colin Millington, with Peter Childs installed as managing director.
A fully qualified chartered engineer, the much respected Millington is a highly experienced operator who, having initially held a similar position at Serck Audco. He joined Pexion in 1990 and came into his current role after a successful spell as managing director of Beldam Crossley.
Likewise, with 35 years' experience in the sealing industry, Peter Childs boasts a fine reputation in the sector. After previously serving both James Walker and Klinger, Childs moved to Pexion in 1993 as sales and marketing director of Beldam Crossley. More recently, he became managing director of MacLellan Rubber in March 2004. He was at one time the UK Principal Expert for gaskets representing the BSI on the European CEN Standards Committee.
As with both Millington and Childs, newly appointed Beldam Burgmann sales director, Simon Winfield, comes to the company from Beldam Crossley. With over 20 years' sealing industry experience, Winfield was originally part of AEP when Pexion took control from Smiths Industries and subsequently became managing director of Beldam Plasmar when Pexion took control in 2000.
Looking forward to the challenge ahead, Childs comments: "In establishing Beldam Burgmann as a major force in what remains a highly competitive sector, it was essential that we put a team in place that boasts all the experience necessary to deliver on our brand promises.
"With the collective experience of Colin, Simon and myself, I am confident that we will soon be making rapid strides and that our projections for concerted growth will be realised.
Focusing on providing sealing products such as packings, gaskets, foam and rubber sheeting to a variety of vertical markets including the food processing, pharmaceutical, chemical and petro-chemical industries, Beldam Burgmann will look to consolidate its core business in the next twelve months, before consistently growing its market share in future years.
Childs concludes: "Like everyone else at Beldam Burgmann, the senior management team is totally focused on what will be a huge challenge. However, we are no strangers to this market and the targets we have set are realistic.
"We have given everything careful consideration and in setting our stall out to grow at the right pace by offering our customers and prospective customers the best products and services, we are confident that our medium to long term objectives will be met."
